Through the lens of: Olafur K

The story behind the photos:
“I work under the name Olafur K but my real name is Carlos Lozano and I’m from Barcelona. My interest in photography began when I was finishing my Product Design degree at university and I discovered a new way to express myself through images. My favourite subject to photograph is the juxtaposition between the natural and artificial world, which for me represents the essence of humanity.
Now, I live in Portland, OR, after leaving everything in Barcelona including a tedious office job. I’m actually looking for a job anywhere… does anyone have a job for me?
These photos were taken during the last weeks or months in Oregon and Utah, US. My work can be divided into two – rational and irrational. In regards to the former, I try to discover architectural and artificial spots where I can play with angles, intersections and straight lines to represent the social and logical part of our feelings and psyche. For the ‘irrational’ aspect of my work, I want to extract the primary and primitive part of us, by catching surreal and unique natural landscapes.”

Olafur K uses a simple Nikon D5500 and Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC Lens.
